Din Tai Fung

Editorial Review

This Taiwan chain has finally invaded Hong Kong and brought along its famous xiaolongbao, or soup dumplings. The restaurant might have earned its top 10 ranking by New York Times in 1993, but it doesn't deserve to keep milking it, and does the article need to be cast in brass and hung on every branch? The food here is no longer exceptional. The Crystal Jade chain has supplanted DTF as the best mass supplier of hot, steamy, soupy buns.
