Occupying the first floor of the boutique Hotel Felix, Elate seems to have as many focuses on food as the hotel offers rooms. Small plates, extravagant comfort foods, eco-friendly dishes, bar snacks, the restaurant offers them all and more in a rustic-meets-modern space with antique mirrors, reclaimed herringbone oak, tall windows and a long zigzag bar that maximizes space for the after-work crowd in suits. Chef Randal Jacobs (DeLaCosta) does the charcuterie table thing, offering artisan-cured meats and cheeses, but we say go for the market-fresh oysters, the octopus pastrami or the shaved pork baguette.
