BlackBook Lowdown

Housed in a heritage villa on a picturesque former taipan’s estate, Face is a Shanghai legend. The interior is decorated with southeast Asian antiques, statuettes, Buddha figures and even an ancient four-poster wooden bed. There’s also a poolroom and a large garden terrace. Two restaurants are also part of the complex: Lan Na Thai serves classic Thai cuisine and Hazara dishes up north Indian fare.
