San Francisco » Bar » Napa Valley » Restaurant Bar
A literal take on farm-to-table: elements of the fixtures and furniture are actually from the restaurant's farm, Long Meadow Ranch, and the building itself is a former barn. LMR produces wine, makes olive oil and honey, grows its own produce and raises shorthorn and Highland cattle, and all are shown off to full effect in the American farmhouse fare. The wood-grilled steaks are, of course, a highlight, but the small plate apps are not to be skipped, and the burger is one of the best in town (there are even options for non-carnivores). As inviting as the place is, the outdoor patio area, with its wood-fired forge to keep you toasty even on chilly fall evenings, can be hard to resist.
