Santa Monica’s popular beer and burger institution has opened—to much hype—in the Helms Bakery complex. The cavernous spot has 72 taps, plus wine, and a classic crowd-pleasing menu. Owner Sang Yoon likes to claim “it’s a bar, not a restaurant,” so don’t expect to get a table during prime time hours or be coddled by a hostess. They do have “house-made” water (via a reverse osmosis contraption), picnic tables and a big patio.
