Federal Donuts

Editorial Review

The most marvelous marriage–donuts and coffee–is maximized in this food lovers' paradise. They're capitalizing on the Korean fried chicken trend too. The incredible take-out enterprise comes to life with the help of a five-fold line-up: James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Solomonov and his partner Steven Cook, BODHi Coffee owners Thomas Henneman and Bob Logue, and local food-and-drink guru Felicia D’Ambrosio. Donuts are prepped several times a day, followed by the necessary steps (sugared, filled, and decked out in darling toppings), while the shop's chicken stock is served two ways: glazed or classically crunchy. But, the "aha" moment comes in when you can–seven days a week, from 11 a.m. until closing–snag a cake donut and fried chicken combo pack.
