Much of Chicago's Mexican food is served under the cruel gaze of florescent lights at 3AM. Not here. Past the life-size replica donkey wearing a sombrero in the window, Fernando's provides a comfy atmosphere with high-backed wood chairs, plants and tables arranged with a modicum of privacy. Great margaritas, traditional Mexican fare and surprisingly tasty barbecue ribs. Owner Fernando Gonzalez claims to have sold 2.7 million margaritas since they first opened in 1982.
