For a ground floor downtown hotel restaurant filled with beleaguered tourists and guys wearing Macy's ties, not half bad. Soft, inoffensive design lightens corporate touch: low ceilings, split-pea soup-colored booths, pre-assembled IKEA-style black tables. Creative, healthy-looking American food that delivers comfort to business travelers: cornbread (of course), Calabrese sausage on flatbread, baked goat cheese, double-fist Cubano sandwiches, big burgers, daunting salads. Everything tastes better wrapped in bacon. Kiddy desserts for mommy's little grown-up. A bit concept-heavy.
