Slope’s no longer a BBQ desert, thanks to Palo Santo and friends laying in some slow-smoking hickory. Check the chalkboard for meats of the day, and hope for ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Order by the pound at the counter, try to snag a scarce seat for serious gorging. (Beans, collards, mac ‘n’ cheese available on the side). Full bar for creative cocktailing, i.e. the Bobbito Burns, made with bacon bitters. Tiny space looks like a country shack, outfitted with salvaged wood, mirrored tiles, old brick. Bunker down.
