The old Fountainbleau was a masterpiece of resolved glamour created by the late architect Morris Lapidus, where everyone first fell under the spell of Miami glitz. But then some genius decided to build a sparkling new 37-story tower with all the modern concepts of understated design and convenience. It's nice and suitable for short or long stays, but frankly, we preferred the old place.
