There's nothing about this that we don't love. The location: small cobblestone stretch just off Montorgueil with easy subway access. The decor: polished tables, stone walls, stellar lighting, timbered ceiling. The owner: young, friendly and super-bilingual thanks to stints at New York's Gramercy Tavern and with Jamie Oliver in London. The food: fresh and inventive (house-smoked trout with green, purple and wild asperagus, or "cherry tomato salad" with heirloom toms, sour cherries, and white balsamic). The (under)price: €27 or €33 for two or three courses. Affordable wines, including some by the pichet. Go now.
