Refuses to be put into a box. Lots of cool cats in this ex-colonial mansion. Allegedly founded by Iggy Pop – rumour has it , but that’s just a rumour. Who cares? Chill lounge upstairs where young skinny indie kids slouch around the old-school juke box paying homage to original rock n roll or ‘hockee en hole’ as its pronounced here. Downstairs, original brownstone walls with a few smashed portraits of indie bands. Tiny dance floor but everyone’s skinny so it doesn’t matter. Thursdays are the best with Brazilian indie legend DJ Fabricio Miranda in the house.
