The jewel of Uptown restaurants, Gautreau's serves subtly intoxicating French cuisine in an intimate, gilded setting. Chef Sue Zemanick doesn't run riot with odd ingredient pairings but instead throws one or two curves per dish to give a traditional French recipe an unpompously modern twist. Chorizo brightens sautéed snapper and bittersweet chocolate and orange gremolata add depth to the roasted squab.
