Golden Era

Editorial Review

Definitely one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the city, which is saying something, and one of the weirder eating experiences ever. Grimy, graf-covered exterior gives way to shiny, gilded temple to healthy eating. All meats in quotes are actually soy or tofu, creatively sautéed, sauced or souped. Case in point: Vietnamese Spicy Sweet & Sour Soup, an explosively strange mix of crazy fresh vegetables and tofu “meats” in sweet, clear pineapple and tamarind-flavored broth.
