Grappa's old school PC—the place you took prom dates back in the day if you knew what’s what. As one of legendary restauranteur Bill White’s first forays into dining, the place has pedigree, too. Food's solid—traditional, mainly Tuscan—and while there’s more spectacular Italian to be had in town, it’s hard to eat it at a classier joint. Grappa’s main dining room is supple and simple, white-linen style, with a wood-burning fireplace. Place just screams ‘taste’—more café than calamity. Outdoor seating is second to none, and if you can manage to get the sommelier’s attention for a minute, have him grab you something special from the cellar. Three words: take your time.
