Also founded on the cultural myth that combining the words ‘surf’ and ‘turf’ alchemically makes mediocre magical. But like all good myths, the Grub Steak is persistent—despite being a kitchy, cliché, cowboy-themed excuse for a restaurant, the place’s been open for thirty years. Some call it Old Park City, some just call it the place they go after bingo and before dialysis. Credit the steak? Maybe—but with an interior feel like the inside of a Lewis and Clark museum, more like credit sentimentality.
