Harlem Tavern

Editorial Review

Midtown sports bar Tonic opens a beer garden on a prime stretch of Frederick Douglass. (Not total carpetbaggery, the owners actually live in Harlem.) Former auto shop lot now graced with seating by the ton, at picnic tables topped by red umbrellas. Lamb, turkey, or black angus in the burgers, sweet potato fries on the side. Six Point Sweet Action among the twenty-some taps. Weekend daytimes stay lively with brunch, live jazz.
