Hayes Street Grill

Editorial Review

This joint was the first to give the Hayes Valley scene some cred. On the street since 1979, it’s old-school SF—not as cool as Tadich Grill, but it’ll do. Co-owned by local foodie/writer Patricia Unterman, of whom we're fans. Uberfresh fish done with simplicity, served to guys and dolls with names like Frankie and Lois. Tip: $29 prix fixe dinner served Sunday through Thursday after 7:30pm is a good deal.
