The only Indian restaurant in Chicago that’s better than Hema’s Kitchen in Lincoln Park is the Hema’s Kitchen on Devon Avenue. Both restaurants, presided over by maternal Hema Potla, serve up consistently fantastic classics like Chicken Masala and Aloo Palak, and more interesting options like Buna Gosht, a lamb dish simmered in peppers and curry leaves. Parathas are wonderfully doughy with just the right amount of butter, and because of the comfortable and tastefully decorated dining room, you might just forget to dip out to pay the meter.
