Solid, old-fashioned British cuisine has had something of a renaissance over the past few years, and Mark Hix, formerly of Le Caprice, has been at its forefront. At this unpretentious restaurant, just around the corner from Smithfields meat market, he serves up hearty dishes such as steak and oyster pie, and rabbit brawn to an upmarket, food-savvy crowd. There’s a good selection of British beers, too.
