Horseshoe Tavern

business thumbnail

Editorial Review

Preppy-athletic locals who live down the street pack into The Shoe to watch the basket-/foot-/baseball game. Open since 1934, with the sepia-toned SF cityscape photos to prove it. Classic rock on the jukebox, two pool tables, and owner Stefan Wever’s snapshots on display. Giant horseshoe pièce de résistance mounted on the mirror in back. Claims to be the only anti-Marina bar in the Marina, and has the hard-tatted, trash-mouthed bar babes to prove it.
