Shabby chic at reasonable prices. Built in the 19th century as an apartment complex and opened as a hotel by Soviet decree in 1952. Oriental rugs, dark wood furnishings, maroon drapes, plain walls. A good, sober choice for those who'd prefer not to spend 3 month's salary on a one night stay. Central location and a retro atmosphere that's friendly and sturdy, like an old babushka pickling mushrooms.
