BlackBook Lowdown
Not to be confused with the trendy bar/resto on the other side of the Canal, this Hôtel du Nord has actual beds. Stuffed with flea market finds, the place is comfy and completely original. It's also dead cheap, which means you can spend your funds instead on all the good bars and restos around the Canal. Bikes on hand to let you wheel along the waterfront paths and a plenty of friendly local bobo appeal.
