Tokyo » Hotel » Akasaka » Mid-range
Next to the U.S. Embassy, this huge Akasaka lodging is predictably filled with an American and foreign business brigade. Bit of a 60s throwback (sporting lobby design by Yoshiro Taniguchi); rooms are modern enough to offer high-speed Internet (for a charge). It's like a high-end food court with ten restaurants split between its two buildings - Chinese, excellent teppanyaki, American, French, and sushi. Enjoy a top-shelf cigar from the walk-in humidor at Baron Okura bar or 2000 works at the on-site art museum. Check out the tea ceremony room with rooftop river garden. We didn't even have time for laps in the six-lane indoor pool.
