Surrounded by galleries and swish shopping, this hotel is housed in an elegant 17th century building and decortated like a private bourgeoise home. Think checkered bedspreads, pressed flowers, and a welcoming fire in the lobby (a bit different from the days when James Baldwin used to stay here). Plenty of services for the high-maintenance, and an affordable option for those who prefer to blow their wad on art and designer clothes.
