The former Manhole has turned into a premier gay dance club on Halsted. The interior redecoration continues with foam-core cutouts with revolving themes. Mercifully free of the gay top-40 anthems, Hydrate features excellent underground dance music, with the likes of house legend Frankie Knuckles spinning every now and again. This is a young, dance-oriented club crowd, with boys (Diesel jeans, baby tees) and girls (mostly fag-hags) showing up on specific nights for specific DJs.
