Beyond classic; J Bar saloon keeps old time western saloon spirit alive on Main St. in the Hotel Jerome. Crowd ranges from celebs that know their way around town to tourists trying to be a part of history. The burger and spinach dip are at the top of a light menu but don’t come to eat; drink in a classic saloon that snuck alcohol in milkshakes called “Aspen Crud” during prohibition. Drinking is no longer undercover here by any means, and if bourbon in a milkshake doesn’t sound appetizing then order the J-Rita. Not what the old miners would have ordered, but does the trick regardless.
