BlackBook Lowdown
Executive chef Gene Kato has the magic touch, fulfililng your culinary desires with succulant Lobster Teriyaki and perfectly Roasted Lamb Rack. Just-outdated techniques and preparations—thinly cut strip steak cooked over a hot rock ("The Rock")—add slight flight of fancy to the proceedings, here, along with a couple of overwrought cocktails garnished with edible orchids; if the food weren't so good, however, this stuff would be dismissed as theme-resto grade mediocrity; it makes the cut, however. Striking design fixtures by aesthetician Jeffrey Beers. Resies a must. First date heaven—surroundings cool enough to carry at least half hour convo.
