Jil Sander

Editorial Review

Ultra-modern label was first luxury brand to make the move to Canal Street area after Opening Ceremony made way for high-end retail in the neighborhood, and it couldn't have been anyone else. Minimalist designs verge on indignant; fits right in with young, experimental vibe that has grown to define Howard Street in the past few years. Space designed by creative director Raf Simons and Dutch artist Germaine Kruip occupies two floors, first of which is product-free and boasts impressive conceptual architecture; second floor sells the streamlined wares from both women's and men's ranges.
