No guide to Philly would be complete without mention of at least one Cheesesteak emporium. There are plenty to be sure, and those in the know have their favorite. (Gino's, Pat's and Jim's are the better known.) All feature the sublime mix of well cooked shredded beef, onions and melted cheese on a roll, so picking your fave is strictly subjective. Jims's on South Street gets our vote, if only because we smile at the thinly veined abuse you get from the guy taking your order.
