Revitalized West End was once a melting pot of diverse Boston culture. Modern, slick sports pub and restaurant newly christened after going by Johnnie's On the Side for a spell reflects neighborhood's history in menu with traditional dishes from varied ethnic enclaves and call outs to well known historical events and political figures. Walls are veritable museum of Boston culture as well. Mostly sports. Proximity to Garden fills room before and after game time or concerts. Off hours can be slow, but food and atmosphere are vibrant enough to keep regulars happy. Live music on weekends, and the occasional athlete sighting.
