Ascend through five floors of the Kenzo HQ and you will discover what Philippe Starck seems to think the French think the Japanese think the future will look like: strange CG-femme portraits stuck to lucite Seize chairs, manga ephemera, and dingy, cracking, gray pleather couches. Forgettable food. The draw is the beautiful, bubble-domed view over the Pont Neuf and the late-night bar scene—the latter best taken with a fat roll, skinny clothes, and little expectation of refined conversation.
