When we heard that a couple of the guys from East Village's notorious Lit were decamping to Philly to open a bar, our minds flashed back to all the fun and hangovers that the NYC dive had provided over the years. Thankfully, the PA outpost isn't quite as debauched, but it's still a great place to sit in semi-darkness and knock back a few brews. It also has something its northern neighbor doesn't—a great live music space.
