A new contender in the residential 17th, La Bigarrade draws cross-town traffic with its ballsy atélier-style cooking. Chef-knows-best approach doesn’t leave you a lot of choice, but you can feel safe in the capable hands of Christophe Pelé (named by Le Fooding as best cook of 2008). Open kitchen lets you watch the evolution of your dégustation – either 8 or 9 plates depending on which menu you choose. Both change daily. Closed Saturday lunch and all day Sunday.
