Unassuming hotel got a facelift this year, but don't expect the Ritz. Grandly named after France's famous luxury liner, the SS Normandie, this auberge antillaise (Anitillean Inn) is more akin to what we Americans call "Howard Johnsons." But for only 95 euros, you'll appreciate the small additions--waffle weave robes, Wi-Fi, and complimentary wine. Plus, it's about 700 feet to the beach with motel-inspired bedrooms of casual comfort. The more expensive, larger units lie adjacent to the hotel's modest pool and contain TVs. The smaller rooms are next to the highway.
