Housed in a beautiful neoclassical building, La Rotonde sits at the edge of the capital's largest artificial lake. The structure, built in 1788 and classified as a historical monument, now houses this chic, international gastronomique restaurant, set largely within the symmetrically austere but dizzyingly grand, glass-ceilinged rotunda. Mismatched furnishings--red leather sofa, leopard and Union Jack chairs--give the interior a cheeky postmodern vibe, and there's also a sleek bar. But it's all about the terrace tables, where you can watch tout Paris float by along La Bassin de la Villette over steak tartare and cocktails.
