My Message here La Scarola “Old World” signage, bowtied waiters, walls crammed with framed photos of the owner with various pseudo-celebs. La Scarola is the prototype (or at least a first-generation clone) of the classic Chicago-style Italian restaurant. Food lives up to expectations, meaning you'll get a giant plate of pasta so good it must be bad for you. (That’s how we like it around here, as the full tables will attest.) Most entrees check at $15 mark, satisfying Chicagoans’ Midwestern desires for value, a touch of sophistication, and morbid obesity. http://www.blackbookmag.com/guides/details/la-scarola
