Editorial Review

A local chain with reliable and cheap Cuban standards, this is Miami's answer to the American diner. Start the morning with sweet cafe con leche and toasted Cuban bread slathered in butter. For lunch, get the Cuban sandwich: ham, roast pork and Swiss cheese with mustard and pickles, piled high on crusty bread and pressed in a sandwich iron. At dinner, a pitcher of sangria or a cold beer compliments arroz con pollo or ropa vieja. Choose your side of plaintains or beans and rice, and loosen your belt: The portions here are anything but small.
