Former old timey grocery store finally gives in to the inexorable march of gentrification - bring on the gourmet, organic treats! Exposed beams, high ceilings, rustic shelving, faux-tique tin bins and excellent Balthazar-style bread would all be right at home in Tribeca. Then again so would the smart looking locals in their natural fibers, expensive laptops and worldly conversations. Nibble on a sandwich or a flaky pastry while taking in the abundant sunlight inside, or nab a canopied outdoor table. Pitcher of pulpy, ginger-laced lemonade purges the urban grit from hectic Alvarez Thomas Ave. Shots of remarkable coffee add zest to the proceedings.
