BlackBook Lowdown

An early 2009 remodel makes this one of L.A.'s newer hotels (just the inside, mind - used to be condos or something less profit-friendly). Now with gym, saltwater rooftop pool, sleek furniture. Restaurant, sure, but gotta be a guest to enjoy, whether inside or al fresco. L.A. Perk: the hotel's next to shopping, and hiking.
