Empty sushi spots usually bug us out. Koko’s space once housed a popular, bright, 24-hour Mexican joint, so it’s even stranger to see it dark with “mood” and eerily quiet. The below-market prices add to the impression that their fish is suspect. Dare we try the sashimi? Sushi's surprisingly excellent and the Eastern European waitstaff so-so, but neighborhoodies who can’t get past the faux upscale white tablecloths and red leather décor wouldn’t know.
