Liza Soughayar’s chic contemporary Lebanese kitchen applies gastronomic glam to traditional Phoenician fare. Chef Karim Haidar spices standard mezzé with additions like sumac-fried foie d’agneaux. For satisfying mains, hit cilantro-garlic sautéed squid, free-range chicken with chickpeas and caramelized onions, five-spice lamb confit and beet-scented kebbé. Levantine-minimal interior by Hubert Fattal finishes the transition to modernity. An €18 lunch special lets you sample 4 mezzé and a main, and the full-on dinner tasting is €42. Quick lunches next door at L de Liza. Open every day.
