Not a lot of detail needed when describing Local 44. They love their beer, and have 20 fabulous flavors on tap (and just one, bottle: Orval Trappiste). Such variety, however, isn't expected for West Philly, so the venue is a welcome addition to the University area. Basic bar grub (hot dogs, burgers, fries) are there primarily to add texture to the liquid diet. If you've never tried Harviestoun Old Engine Oil, Local 44 is worth a visit.
