Bourbon lounges, by nature, are dim and fueled by the charm of overweight Southern gents who laugh too loud after pounding a shot of Maker's Mark. Loft Six Ten, the newest venture of Brad Tice (Goodbar, Cortland's Garage), is not only well-lit, multi-leveled, and filled with polite guys in their thirties wearing designer tees who are more tight-lipped than charming, but it also bucks the old-school bourbon system with its seriously cool modern furniture, an eleveted DJ booth (where the DJ has to climb a ladder to get inside), and a new American menu featuring Guinness cheese dip, lamb lollipops and beer-steamed mussels. There are tons of bottled beers to choose from, but we'd start off with a cocktail and a good pickup line.
