Stepping into Maison 24 is sort of like being trapped inside a model-actress-turned interior decorator's all-night coke dance party. Owners Allison and Louis are both alums of Jonathan Adler, and his whimsical influence comes through in their carefully chosen selections (from T-shirts, rubber belts and day-glo candlestick holders to couches, rugs and coffee tables). Also evident is the influence of porn, hip-hop, Ibiza, bad ’80s sit-coms, Charles and Ray Eames, Barbarella, Liberace, amyl nitrate, Scarface, James Bond, and Robert Wilson. The brother and sister team credit their 1970's upbringing (their living room included Lucite modular seating, horsehair Louix XV chairs and a black snakeskin cocktail table) as a major influence, but their collection isn't nearly as sedate as all that.
