This new hotspot hotel is the product of a very odd alliance between French philosopher Cyril Aouizerate, interior design star Philippe Starck, and the founders of Club Med. Rooms start at an unheard-of €79, and cater to the young set with iMacs and Superman bedside lamps. The swish bar and terrace are beginning to pull a crowd, in part because there's nothing else in this neighborhood. Except, of course, for the neighboring Flèche d'Or - one of the city's best venues for live rock and electro. But (newsflash) that's closed for the summer of 2009. In-house restaurant is overseen (at least from afar) by famed chef Alain Senderens. His hand-picked staff put out unchallenging but yummy steak frites, duck parmentier and other classic dishes.
