Boston » Bar » Downtown » Restaurant Bar
Historic Boston landmark’s bar serves up classic cocktails like they used to be made. Probably because it’s been there since before most of them existed. Opened in 1885, then recently reopened, the room keeps most of the original character in tact. Room is a bit bright however, although dim ambience probably wasn’t trendy in the 19th century. Stashed away in sort of remote corner of downtown, which gives the feel of discovering a secret space. That may account for usually wide open bar and dining room. It's not the quality of the seafood or knowledgeable staff anyway.
