Tucked away on a desolate stretch of Cermak Avenue, May Street Cafe entices diners for its Nuevo Latin flavors. The menu changes weekly with an array of fish and meat entrees joining ongoing delights like a spicy tortilla soup and jibaritos (pork sandwiches on plantains). It's more like a fine-dining establishment, but the local art on the walls is the only cafe-like touch. For a bouquet of light sweetness, try the pear-and-brie quesadillas.
