Mea Cinis

Editorial Review

Turning North Beach upscale, this dramatic space known as Mea Cinis (My Ashes), is a museum-like space filled with the most unusual of ancient and modern artifacts. Venetian plastered walls made from raw pigments support rare artifacts and collectables such as hand-strung pigskin wall hangings that resemble giant dreadlocks, and 12th century Khmer bronze mirrors. Modern jewelry is designed by shop owners specializing in their trade of design and metal smith bringing you necklaces, rings, bracelets all made from the likes of ancient jade, bone, shells and metal. Attracting a kooky, bohemian, well-traveled customer they offer custom made fittings where you can design a sick ring that will fit like a glove.
