PREVIEW. Montreal regional cuisine -- part Jewish, part Quebecois -- has been MIA from New York's diverse culinary scene until now. Expat Noah Bernamoff opens Mile End this fall, named after the city's hippest 'hood, and serving up the city's no-fuss favorites. Poutine done right, with cheese curds flown in from la Belle Province, and topped with in house smoked meats (lamb, chicken, pastrami). Sink your teeth into MTL's famouse St. Viateur bagels (with cream cheese and lox, obv), also making the trip across the border. Artisinal grilled cheese rounds out the all killer no filler menu, and micro-brewed beer from Quebec is on tap. Montreal is a great city, and here's why.
